TTT: Restaurant Week

Triangle Restaurant Week is coming soon, so mark your calendars.  This year it’s May 11-17.  Several of my favorites and a few I want to try are on the list.  $15 for lunch and $20 for dinner = 1 app, 1 entree, 1 dessert.  Make reservations to guarantee your spot and don’t assume all the restaurants serve both lunch and dinner.

Check out info on restaurant week in other places at National Geographic’s Intelligent Travel blog.

Triangle’s first Anthropologie now open!

Spouses of Triangle shoppers, BEWARE!  The Triangle’s first Anthropologie opened yesterday at the Streets at Southpoint in Durham.  I love their dresses and tops and jackets and knick-knacks and curtains and… okay, everything.

16th annual Spring Daze Arts & Crafts Festival

Saturday, April 25, 2009
9 a.m.-5 p.m. at Bond Park

From the Town of Cary website:

Welcome to the 16th annual Spring Daze Arts & Crafts Festival in the 310-acre Fred G. Bond Metro Park. With winding trails, a lush forested canopy, and a beautiful lake, Bond Park provides an outstanding setting for this annual festival.

The festival is filled with wonderful arts and crafts, your favorite festival foods, community based civic groups handing out information on things you can get involved with, and entertainment. Children will be delighted by activities just for them in the Children’s Village and will be invited to exercise their imagination as they play in the always popular Lazy Daze Playground – the center of the village. In the Earth Day area of the festival, you can find out how to play a role in preserving our natural resources and protecting the environment. This is the perfect family event to learn more about what you can do to make every day Earth Day.

Spa Week – April 13-19, 2009

Spa Week is coming to a spa near you very very soon.  What is it?  A chance to go to a spa for discounted treatments.  Why?  It’s an opportunity for those who haven’t visited a spa before – or who don’t go often – to check it out for a much lower price to see if they think the services are worth the regular prices.

In the Triangle area, the following spas are participating:

  • BodyLase Skin Spa
  • La Therapie Spa at Preston
  • Tanas Hair Designs & Day Spa
  • Healing Waters Medical Day Spa
  • Douglas Carroll
  • Serenity Spa & Tan
  • Synergy Spa
  • Tanas Hair Designs & Day Spa

Make your reservations NOW – I’m sure they’ll fill up fast.  We’re trying La Therapie.

The episode will be broadcast at 10 PM tomorrow, March 18.

Set your DVRs/TIVOs tonight to catch it!

Breakfast at Herons

This past Saturday, I decided to treat myself to breakfast at Herons, the restaurant at the fabulous Umstead Hotel in Cary, NC.  I’d been there for lunch before, but I’ve been admiring the breakfast menu since I first heard about the place.
