Mountain Magnolia Inn
204 Lawson Street
Hot Springs, NC 28743

My in-laws live in Madison County, so they knew just where we should go to eat – the Mountain Magnolia Inn.  We passed through Mars Hill and saw the charming campus of Mars Hill College and then continued on really winding roads until we reached Hot Springs.  Hot Springs is tiny, with a population of just 645 in 2000.

We walked around outside a bit – enjoyed the amazing view from the front of the house and checked out the interesting trees.  We all agreed that it would be a very nice place to stay.  There are plenty of places to relax and have some quiet time outside, and the new terrace would be another great place to eat (in addition to the front porch and the inside of the house).

Jason and I shared French onion soup to start, which was very good.  Allan and I had the filet, which was nice and tender.  I swapped out some veggies for french fries; I just can’t resist them, and they were very good.  I think Jason had the lamb and Debbie had the fish, but it’s been a while so I can’t remember exactly.  I just remember that everyone liked what they ordered.  I’d definitely recommend that people visit the Mountain Magnolia Inn.

More pics, including the county sign pic and menu pics, are here.
