Dinner and a show: Bojangles & Spamalot

This is a bit overdue since we went on April 17, but I’ve been really crazy lately.  I had a meeting kinda late, so we couldn’t do the usual try-a-restaurant-in-Raleigh thing.  Instead, we drove thru my favorite fast food joint, Bojangles, on the way to the theatre.

For those of you who haven’t lived in the NC/SC area (or have but lived under a rock), Bojangles is the home of the best fast food fried chicken.  They also have amazing biscuits.  My usual is a Cajun filet biscuit – a boneless chicken breast, breaded with (slightly) spicy stuff, fried, and placed on a yummy biscuit – and seasoned fries.  If the fries are hot enough, you don’t need ketchup.  Heck, even if they’re not very hot, you still don’t need ketchup (if they’re not old).  That seasoning is so good!  (Side note: If I’m there for breakfast, I get a BoBerry biscuit.  It’s a biscuit with blueberries baked in and then topped with icing – way too yummy.)

Anyway, on to the next to last show of our Broadway Series South season – Monty Python’s Spamalot.  My husband and I saw this on Broadway in June 2006 with Harry Groener as King Arthur.  Needless to say, I was over-the-moon-excited to see him (I’m a huuuge Buffy fan, and he played the mayor).  I was concerned about being disappointed in the traveling production since I frequently am disappointed, but my concerns were unwarranted.  The cast was fantastic!  The jokes were no less hysterical the second time.  We still giggle ab

Fried chicken is good hot but the better cold on a picnic.

    Bojangle’s Rocks!

If you ever visit one that has the Pork Chop Biscuit – GET IT! It is amazing. They bring them back periodically as a limited time offer. Not sure why they don’t just keep it.
