TTT: Catch a nap when you can

I definitely recommed catching a few winks whenever you can – but don’t sleep too much on the first day else the jet lag will be even tougher.

I don’t sleep well on planes – if at all. But I like to arrive in a place and hit the ground running so I’ll adjust more quickly. On our last trip to Europe (May), we arrived in Franfurt before 8 am and neither of us slept much in our middle seats. We had enough adrenaline to keep us going through the morning, but we were zonked by 11. We just pulled into a parking lot in Rothenburg and took a 45 minute nap before finding some lunch and exploring the town. It was perfect! We were ready to go for the rest of the day. I think we’ll do something similar on our next trip.

How do you deal with exhaustion after a long flight while avoiding jet lag? If you’re one of those lucky people who can sleep on a plane, I officially hate you. ;)
