TTT: Skip Venice October-December

As I’m working on my Venice post for y’all, I’m thinking about the terrible flooding that happened this year. For Travel Tip Tuesday this week, my recommendation is to go see Venice ASAP – but not in October, November, or December if you can help it.
Flooding in Venice is ordinarily not a huge deal – usually there’s just water splashing over the banks of the canals or coming up through the drains in Piazza San Marco. It can, however, reach levels that would pretty much guarantee to ruin your delightful tromps through the streets like this year’s flooding. For more info about flooding in Venice, check out Acqua Alta.
