David Wilcox at American Tobacco Campus

The illustrious David Wilcox will be playing tomorrow night at the American Tobacco Campus for WUNC’s Back Porch Music concert series.  If you have time, go see him!  It’s free and starts at 6 pm.

I love David Wilcox – he’s a great story teller and songwriter AND he’s from Asheville.  My favorite CD is East Asheville Hardware, an oldie but goodie.  I still cry when I hear the title song.  The song goes, “Go to to East Asheville Hardware before you go to Lowes.  It’ll help to keep them open; I’m worried they might close.”  Yeah, they did.  *sniffles*  I grew up going to that store.  My dad even had a line of credit with them!  The other songs on that album are great too – good stories that will make you laugh, scream, and cry.
